Jon,

From living through a nightmarish, alleged neglect situation to being reunited with his loving family, Junior the beagle has had quite an extraordinary adventure.

More than a year ago, Junior was reported missing by his family. Hope was all but lost for him and his devastated family until the Humane Society of the United States found him on a property in Dixie County, Florida, during a lifesaving rescue of more than 140 dogs living in terrible conditions.

Now he's happily back with his family where he'll get all the pets, treats and love that a dog could want. Happy endings like this are only possible because of supporters like you.

Greetings from The Pet Collective!
Late last year, 40 special beagles arrived in L.A. They had been rescued from an animal-testing lab in Spain by the Beagle Freedom Project, at great personal expense to the project's founder.  It was the first time these dogs had seen the sun or walked on solid ground.
Today, The Pet Collective, the premiere digital channel for pet lovers has released a wonderful follow-up video that completes the story of one of these dogs, a beagle named Ebbie, who was particularly scared and scarred by the life he had lived.
Ebbie could not eat or drink and was wasting away from years of lab testing and toxins being pumped into his body.  But when he met a litter of pit-bull puppies, his demeanor changed, and today, Ebbie is living in North Hollywood, Calif., in his "forever home."
We're all in need of happy endings these days, and this is a very happy one, indeed, as you'll see by the attached before and after pictures of Ebbie (short for Ebenezer).

Orange County Florida: Save Rufus!

By Julie W.
Orlando, Florida

Rufus is a friendly, one-year-old Beagle pup who has been sentenced to death by Orange County FL Animal Services because of an accident that occurred in the pup's home. His owners don't want him destroyed and we need your help because he could be put down any day now!

Rufus' family is doing everything in their power to stop him from being put down after he bit their four year old child. I'm a friend of Rufus' family and I know that Rufus is not at all an aggressive dog - he was just excited about his new food (he had never had wet dog food before) and their son startled the puppy from behind while he was eating. But the county says that because the boy needed a few stitches, they have to kill Rufus and took the puppy from the family.

The child is not traumatized, the family loves the dog and wants him to live, and is willing to give up their beloved dog to another home with no children. So why would the county be so heartless to not even consider that option?
