The world is certainly different than any of us recognize or understand. We all try to go about our day to day life as best we can. We stand united with people who are similar minded,  have proper morals and respect for each other, the animals and nature, for me this is the only way to keep moving forward.
This past year was so difficult with many losing their homes and animals through floods, hurricanes and now in the last month in California we are faced with several devastating fires. It has taken a toll on all of us but we must stay strong and continue to help those in need!
Our job is to rescue, educate & provide for the abandoned & abused. I work all year long caring for homeless animals-rescuing, finding loving forever homes, paying medical bills, working to heal their wounded hearts and minds. I continue educating myself on a daily basis, working and learning from experts on ways to keep our faithful friends healthy and happy.
Our Cancer prevention program is WORKING and giving animals more time! We educate every day to remind people to cut out grains, potatoes, and feed clean food, to use cancer prevention herbs and more!
There is still so much abuse and ignorance happening to the innocent animals.  It is hard for me to get through each day.  I just make myself keep fighting and moving forward. We save so many innocent lives through your donations!
The laws must change and 2017 has shown that the pet overpopulation must be stopped. Spay and neuter must become mandatory against backyard breeders and innocent dogs that are being used in puppy mills by people trying to make a fast buck. It is imperative these laws regarding animals must be changed and every judge I have come across tells me the same thing. It has to be black and white, but we all know how difficult that is.
Human and animal rights and laws... It's all politics. Such a shame.  2018 must finally bring changes that are so desperately needed.
With that I will leave you with loving thoughts this Holiday Season. If you are traveling be safe, warmth if you are cold, and please look out for both people and animals in need of a helping hand.  Don't be afraid to save an innocent animal in their time of need. Never turn a blind eye when you can make a difference!
Peace to you through this holiday weekend.
We are in desperate need of donations. With all the rescuing and tragic emergencies that happened these last few months we simply didn't have the finances for our normal holiday mailing. Please be generous and donate today for our Christmas wish for the animals in need! Below you will find our wish list and whether you can provide something on the small side or large side we anxiously wait to hear from you!
 With Love & Peace,
Linda Blair

Spread a little Holiday Cheer to an LBWF Rescued Dog this year!

We rely on your donations to help the animals that have been abandoned and so desperately need medical attention, love, warmth and endless playtime. If you can find it in your heart to make any type of donation to make our Christmas special for the dogs we would be so grateful.  Your donations will make a dog smile and squeak from ear to ear and forget that they don't have a home just yet.

Our Emergency Christmas Wish list:
  • 4 new tires for the dog's transportation van.
  • To replace the 12 year old Honda Odyssey dog mini van with an updated donated vehicle.

Meet Some Of Our Recent Emergency Rescues!
With the recent fires devastating California LBWF started by rescuing 14 dogs. Within the last day or so we have pulled another 5 dogs from the shelters. The shelters are in desperate need for space with all the fire victims. Many of the dogs are coming out of the shelters with kennel cough and colds and have been going to the veterinarian to get medication. We thank you all for your support and we know it is the Holiday Season but please don't forget the abandoned pets this Holiday Season. Your tax deductible donations help provide a meal, a toy and a warm bed!

A Shelter Dog's Holiday Poem
Dillinger
'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the town,
Every shelter is full- we are lost, but not found.
Our numbers are hung on our kennels so bare,
We hope every minute that someone will care.
They'll come to adopt us and give us the call,
"Come here, Max and Sparkie-come fetch your new ball!"
But now we sit here and think of the days
we were treated so fondly- we had cute, baby ways.
Once we were little, then we grew and we grew.
Now we're no longer young and we're no longer new.
They reacted so quickly- why were they so rash?
We "jump on the children," "don't come when they call,"
We "bark when they leave us," "climb over the wall."
We should have been neutered, we should have been spayed,
Now we suffer the consequence of the errors THEY made.
If only they'd trained us, if only we knew,
We'd have done what they asked us and worshipped them, too.
We were left in the backyard, or worse, let to roam.
Now we're tired and lonely and out of a home.
They dropped us off here and they kissed us goodbye...
"Maybe someone else will give you a try."
So now here we are, all confused and alone
In a shelter with others who long for a home.
The kind workers come through with a meal and a pat,
With so many to care for, they can't stay to chat.
They move to the next kennel, giving each of us cheer...
We know they wonder how long we'll be here.
We lay down to sleep and sweet dreams fill our heads,
Of a home filled with love and our own cozy beds.
Then we wake to see sad eyes, brimming with tears-
Our friends filled with emptiness, worry and fear.
If you can't adopt us and there's no room at the inn-
Could you help with the bills and fill our food bin?
We count on your kindness each day of the year-
Can you give more than hope to everyone here?
Please make a donation to pay for the heat...
And help us get something special to eat.
The shelter that cares for us wants us to live,
And more of us will, if more people will give.

Emergency Donations Needed
To My Amazing Animal Loving Friends,

The Southern California fires are out of control! We are in need of Emergency Donations to help rescue and save precious lives. The shelters are overfilled and need room to make space for the strays and victims of the high winds and fires. We have already pulled 11 shelter dogs so far and need your help! To make a much needed donation, please click the Donate button below. Nothing is too small or too large. Please help!

This year has gone by so quickly. There was so much hope and promise and then suddenly so many shocking events happened that changed thousands of people's lives without warning. We all stand together as loving people that want the world to be a better, kinder place and yet it has been a rocky road and challenged all of us in so many different ways.
The one thing we all hold in common is love for animals and trying to make a difference. The challenge becomes more difficult every year. I haven't given up faith. I can't. I need your support to help me to help the animals through these troubled times.
Our financial situation has been challenging all year long no matter how hard I work and reach out. I do this job 24/7. I take nothing for myself but I shepherd the animals every step of the way from morning till night.
In lieu of holiday cards this year we are doing emails and using electronic media to reach out to those we love and set a path for the future.
We all know spay and neuter is a necessity, due to the crisis of pet overpopulation in our country. Maybe now with all the storms that have changed the course of these animals' and humans' lives, the government will start to understand and we can make headway in 2018.
My heart has not stopped thinking about Houston. We have actually saved several animals through friends of ours that live down in Houston. These were pets that once had a home and found themselves as strays out on the street, lost and asking for compassion, food and would love a new home.
The environmental impact the storm had caused many skin conditions down there and we've tried to reach out and help those to help the animals that are fighting new issues due to toxins in their bodies from the storms. Florida, Puerto Rico, I don't even know how they could've been left in such a tragic way when they are our brothers and sisters.  I think of them every day.
Being in the middle of the fires and California burning is both devastating and shocking, and knowing the thousands of humans and animals that are now homeless is heartbreaking. Caring, loving, compassionate people are losing everything they've ever known in their lives. The animals depend on humans to find them safety and that is our job to help the homeless pets that have lost their families and need rescues to help them find a new loving, forever, home.
We rescue from shelters every week. We are not sure people realize the hard work we do. We give veterinarian care, training and mend they're broken hearts. We put them back together and find loving people to adopt them and give them everything they deserve!
We currently have 11 already rescued and at the veterinarian for spay, neuter and medical care! We are working with the shelters during these tragedies to figure out how to relieve their stress so they can help the strays coming in from the fires. Then the rescuers must step in again. It's time consuming, expensive and exhausting!
Please help me to help them! That's all I can ask from the bottom of my heart! The tragedies are all over the news and for those that don't look at the pets in the shelters it is simply heartbreaking every single day. Their lives are on the line for no reason other than bad humans and the loss of their homes.
We've uncovered a lot truths with the backyard breeders being allowed to take their pets back from shelters, to continue to breed them again, without even being slapped on the wrist. We have confirmation of breeders abandoning their dogs to the streets, to fend for themselves, after they've bred them over and over. All of this will be brought to light in 2018.
Please, please, please donate today and help me to help them. I must ask for financial aid during this crisis in California. I'm asking from the bottom my heart! Also, don't forget all the hard work we do for cancer prevention - it is working!  Help support me in this hard and expensive work that is proving to give people more time when their pets may be diagnosed with this tragic life-threatening illness.
 Many thanks!
With Love and Prayers of safety for your family and your pets!

The world is in such flux and change, but we at LBWF, want to wish you, our rescue family, peace, love and comfort this Thanksgiving!  Your love and support
to the important work we do with rescuing pets in need, education and supporting our companion animal cancer prevention work, would not happen without your love and donations! Your compassion saves so many lives and continues to do so every day!
We hope you've been following our companion animal, Cancer prevention program consisting of grain free food, herbs and the lives we have extended, proving proper grain free food, with no potatoes. Nutrition and support is truly extending our LBWF companion animals lives!
Recently, a Scandinavian report came out proving that animals extend humans' lives and  they help to slow down heart disease.  Most all of us, that love animals, as family members, truly know this ourselves, and did not need a 10 year study to learn these facts.
The companion animals, face such difficult obstacles nowadays, finding themselves abandoned and in shelters, all too often and their very lives at risk.  Did you know that LBWF and so many other rescue groups, across the country, need foster homes, especially this time of year, helping to save more lives and in return they just might save yours!
Sign up with LBWF for our foster program through the holidays and/or any of your rescue groups around the country and help a companion animal in need!
This is the time to give thanks, giving, and volunteer, helping LBWF and animals and friends around the country who need a helping hand.
We hope you'll consider a vegetarian - vegan Thanksgiving to know and feel the health benefits that will come your way!  Having saved turkeys in the past and knowing how sweet their temperament is, I wish everyone could have the same experience I did to know and understand why a healthy, meat free lifestyle is a blessing and the health benefits will prove themselves,  reducing heart disease, high cholesterol,  amazing weight-loss and so many other benefits!
Your Thanksgiving donations will provide our continued work with cancer prevention, holiday meals, love and support of our important work during this holiday season!
May you find safe travels, loving friends and family, peace, warmth and comfort this holiday season!
 Much Love,
 Linda Blair Worldheart Foundation

Pet Safety Tips
Chocolate

With the holiday seasons upon us it's important to keep your four legged loved ones safe! Here are a few tips to keep you and yours happy and safe this holiday season!
  1. Be mindful of cold weather products such as de-icing products, salt, and anti-freeze! When walking your pet outside during the snow and ice be sure to wipe their paws and undersides thoroughly when returning inside. This will ensure your pet is safe from any skin irritations or more serious conditions.
  2. Keep all holiday decorations out of reach such as tinsel and ribbon. Ingestion of these materials could cause serious health complications for your pet.
  3. There are lots of beautiful holiday plants out there but many of them are dangerous to your pets if ingested. Keep lilies, mistletoe, ivy, holly, and poinsettias out of reach!
  4. We all love our fur friends very much and want them to enjoy some of the same yummy treats we do but keep in mind that turkey bones can be very dangerous to our pets and could cause obstructions. Holiday sweets such as chocolate are dangerous too! Keep the yummies out of reach of your furry friends.
With the holidays come lots of visitors and/or out of town trips. It's important to ensure your pet is properly tagged and micro-chipped in the event they become spooked during this holiday season.

Wishing you a safe and a
Happy Halloween!
The Linda Blair Worldheart Foundation wishes you and your pets a happy and safe Halloween. Below please find some safety tips to make sure your pet has a safe and you an enjoyable Halloween!
  • Never leave your 4-legged loved ones outside during Halloween. Unfortunately there are plenty of people out there who play pranks that could seriously harm your pet.
  • Remember to keep candy out of reach of your pets. Chocolate is extremely dangerous, as are many of the wrappers.
  • If your pet is typically skittish give them a nice quiet, safe place in the house so they don't become frightened.
  • If your pet is social and you would like them to be part of the Halloween festivities, it's best to keep them leashed in the event they become spooked and try to dart out the door.
  • Make sure your animals are properly tagged and micro-chipped in the event of escape.
  •  Don't dress up pets unless they love it. If you do dress them up make sure the costume isn't annoying or unsafe. Avoid restriction of movement, vision, hearing or the ability to breathe or vocalize. Costumes should not contain small dangling accessories that could be consumed or cause choking.
  •  Restrict your pet's access to decorations. Jack o' lanterns with candles are obvious fire hazards, but cats can also get tangled in streamers. Pets can also become ill from eating holiday decor.

LB with Sunny and Riley
In honor of my founding member dogs, Sunny boy and Riley and the thousands of others that have lost their battles with cancer, in their memory, I've been working on cancer prevention, for the last few years and it's proven successful!  The dogs I've had on the program that I created with experts are all still alive and thriving. It's a miracle!
This T-shirt campaign helps to continue the funding  for cancer prevention and to get the word out far and wide, demanding clean pet food, grain free, the supporting herbs, and CBD oil's for pets!  I no longer do chemotherapy or radiation which causes such sickness and usually a faster and to their precious lives!
I've been posting the information on my Facebook & website for the last year. I hope you've been following... For anyone that's new, we have all lost a pet to cancer and it's broken our hearts! My life goal is to put an end to cancer in pets! It's all in the food! Our animals were given cheaper foods through the years that allowed cancer to thrive. Now we are stopping it! Please help me on this journey and support the work I do with animal rescue and cancer prevention by supporting this T-shirt campaign through October 31st! I'm counting on you to help me to help the animals in the world to have a healthier, loving and anti-cruelty life!

Linda
Many of you may not realize that animal rescuers are inundated with emails and people begging us to help animals in shelters or people that have fallen on hard times, losing their homes, pets found out in the desert, abandoned. It's a very difficult world to live in.  We have a different skin because we live trying every minute of every day to save the innocent animals that were neglected, abandoned, or thrown away and it happens each and every day all over our country and the world.
We try so hard to keep going, to be able to put a smile on our face for the public and people that ask how we are doing. But does anyone really care how we are doing? Our world is a very difficult one to live in.
After perusing hundreds of animals on the euthanasia list in the shelters, sending emails, trying to save lives I started to turn my computer off to go get a few hours of rest.  Something caught my eye. An email from a very brave lady that rescues dogs that are abandoned way back deep in the California desert.
Once again it was another cruelty case, a starving beautiful, gentle, sweet pitbull abandoned to die, near starvation and fed something that poisoned its mouth so it could no longer eat or drink. My eyes, my heart, it's hard not to cry. I just had to reach out to you all, the loving animal community and beg you to donate to those of us that save these poor animals from their abandonment, neglect, starvation and witness so many horrible crimes that man does to these innocent animals.  I beg you to make a donation because that's the only thing that helps us to keep going is the financial aid. I don't take a salary; I give all your donations to the animals we are able to rescue through LBWF.
Make my day, no matter how small your donation or large, it helps us with the food, treats, water to fill their pools so they can play in the high of the summer.  We have to spay & neuter so many animals that sometimes come out of the shelters too sick to be medically treated at that time and we have to provide for them. Please won't you make a donation right now? Their lives depend on you and you depend on us to save them. Your donations count more than you can imagine! Please help me to keep fighting this war against the pet overpopulation and the abandoned animals. United we can make a difference I just keep believing that in my heart and my life! I

Rescue is a Lifestyle
What is an Animal Rescuer?
By: Linda Blair
I think it's important to understand that when you hear the word "rescuer", it means "volunteer". It's you, me and anyone with an open heart or home to help one in need. Human or animal. In the case of an animal rescuer, we open our homes or find appropriate foster homes that can offer shelter to an animal in need.  This is similar to the process of finding foster homes for children in need.
What does an Animal Rescuer do?

Well, in the "underground world" of animal rights advocates, we read thousands of emails about animals facing death sentences every day. At first you cry a lot, then you go into action and get involved.
A rescuer will take in a stray animal on its way to the pound. A rescuer will walk the cold or hot cement shelter floors, listening to the cries of sadness and barking from scared animals, begging to be noticed and rescued. We see animals curled up in the corners, afraid or depressed.  Mother's begging to find shelter from the noise for their newborn pups or kittens.  Others, so hungry they'll eat anything deposited on the barren floors. Then there are the secret isolation rooms, closed to the public. Here you will find, the accident victims, those suffering from horrible mange and sometimes those that suffer from a cold, known as kennel cough, which can be fixed, but they'll never be seen by the public. Here, also, you will find where the horror cases are kept, victims
from unthinkable abuse. They suffer alone, behind closed doors. For unless a rescuer or good volunteer tells you, no one will ever see them. They are simply doomed to die. We ache, but we keep walking. We ask questions, and we think of anyone who might be looking for a dog or cat.  We get teary-eyed for those animals we know we just can't help.
We carefully pick the animals we think we can help, both financially & emotionally, until we can find them a new loving, permanent home.  If an animal has been "fixed", you fill out the paperwork, which takes
awhile, and drive off with a scared new friend you've never met before. Neither of you knows the other. If an animal is unaltered (not spayed or neutered) they are sent to a clinic the next day and you pick them up, usually half asleep, and take them to another vet for a check up. If they have contracted a cold, known as "Kennel Cough", they must be quarantined at a veterinarian with a quarantine area, or a boarding facility with a quarantine. A foster home, who has no animals to protect from the upper respiratory cold is always best, but nearly impossible to find.  If the animal has mange, which is very contagious, it needs to be treated as well while in quarantine. Then we have boarding costs, feeding costs and sometimes large medical expenses. If they have broken limbs they must be operated on and kept in a quiet place to recover.
We then have to get to know the animal. Are they friendly? Do they like people, other animals? Cats, dogs? What can we tell someone about them? Do they need minimal training, or extensive training?  Are they
housetrained? How old are they really? What breed or mix are they? We visit them during quarantine as much as possible. We take them for walks, play or just sit with them to get to know them.  And they need the opportunity to know us, too.
We make flyers with a photograph, and the animal's story.  Then we drive around and distribute the flyers, and make phone calls and send emails.
We schedule adoption days. We find a suitable place like a storefront, a small shopping mall, or pet store that allows us to set up a small adoption area with a playpen and food and water station, to show our "Adoptee".  In the summer months we hope to have "misters" to relieve them from the summer days heat. When someone is interested in one of our friends, we ask questions about their home and fenced yards, their work hours, and what kind of a companion they're looking for, and how much time they have to spend with them. We ask them to fill out questionnaires about themselves, so we can best decide who's correct for the animal and who the animal will best get along with.
For example, older dogs are happy to have a warm place, and love. Younger dogs need to be exercised more, and sometimes need more training. Puppies need it all; housetraining, obedience training, and a lifetime commitment.
Our job, is healing & match making. When we finally make a choice, we've made the drive to someone's home, done our house check, paperwork, and taken a departing picture of our rescued animal, we say our goodbye's and drive away. Most of us cry a little, not always because we are sad, but because we saved a life.  Our job is complete. They will be missed, but we move on to the next one, for there are thousands just waiting for someone to rescue them. Waiting for someone to save them from the cold, frightening shelters, death row and the inevitable & foreboding death needle or far worse, in some states in America, the gas chamber.

We Need Your Help!
Youcaring Fundraiser
Help LBWF help the CA rescue dogs in the hot summer heat

Thank you to everyone that has donated but we still need to finish the project for the rescue dogs. The horrific searing heat and humidity has hit California and the K-9 cottage is almost finished. We need to install the windows, air conditioner, insulation and shingles. We are so close; please won't you send your much needed donation to help us save so many California dogs in need. They were peoples' pets that never found their way home after the 4th of July and now they find themselves in our shelters on death row.  We have saved three more dogs this past week and have six more waiting
for the cottage to be finished. Please help us help these deserving pets that are dying in our shelters for no reason except lack of space.
Your love and support helped us plant shade trees nine years ago, buy baby pools each year for the dogs to cool off from the over 100 degree heat and they get love and playtime every day! We have the ability to save more lives but we need your help! Any amount  helps us to help them!
We have started a  YouCaring  fundraiser in order to raise funds. Please make a donation today. To make a donation to our fundraiser just click on the picture of the shed.
Many Thanks,
Linda Blair

Joe Perry Adopted_
Joe Perry

Joe Perry waited a whole year to find his forever loving home. He had an eye operation when he was still at the shelter and LBWF was the only one that would take him last year. We are so excited that he finally found his forever home. He was such a sweetheart and we are overjoyed on this lucky day! Your donations count and help us to save lives while they wait for their forever homes!
Pops Adopted_
Pops

Everyone knows my love for the senior dogs. They are the best dogs, have great characters, and a great friendship. Our old timer, Pops found his forever loving home today with two of my best volunteers! We are so grateful to John and Carol for adopting Pops, the senior, into their forever loving home! Everyone should come volunteer and foster or adopt a dog. Our dogs are awesome. Thank you to everyone that has been stepping up in adopting and fostering for LBWF!

Summer Emergency Funds Needed!
Youcaring Fundraiser
Help LBWF help the CA rescue dogs in the hot summer heat and days leading up to July 4th weekend!

With high spiking temperatures and 4th of July upon us we need to put up another K9 cottage for the rescue dogs. It will include air conditioning, will provide room comfortably for 8 rescued dogs and is similar to the one pictured here before it was completed.

The influx due to the pet overpopulation and the high killing in the shelters is out of control in California. Please won't you pull from your heart & donate.
We must raise funds ASAP. The ground construction started this weekend and we need your help to get the K9 cottage here. It's ordered and waiting on you for delivery.  We need donations to help us complete this for them in the 110 degree desert heat and it includes their cottage Air conditioners. This is an urgent emergency due to California's huge pet overpopulation and the shelters are begging us to help. We are trying. Will you help us to help them? We have started a  YouCaring  fundraiser in order to raise funds. Please make a donation today. To make a donation to our fundraiser just click on the picture of the shed.

The week leading up to the 4th of July is the highest kill week in the shelters.

new rescues

We have been saving so many dogs already because the killing atthe shelters has already begun to make room for people's pets that run away from the fireworks! This is the most horrible time of year for animals and people and us rescuers, watching all these incredible pets dying in shelters to make room for people's pets is really hard on us. Please donate and help us to help them

Times are so hard, but the gift of love must be spread, and we wish you and yours, a beautiful Mother's Day weekend!
Our own rescued, mama dogs, are now spayed, and are asking for donations through our PayPal so they may have treats, good healthy meals,  a $10.00 donation for a baby pool to swim and splash around in, with the oncoming summer heat!
Maybe, you'd like to join our Crowdrise Fundraiser, so we may supply air conditioners to the four new K-9 cottages! With your donations, we purchased these amazing 8x10, cottage kits on sale, last fall, after the fires and rescued so many dogs in need. They were insulated and comfortable for winter, but now they need the air conditioners for the oncoming, sweltering, summer, desert heat!  Please see our fundraiser below!

Please Support Our Rescue Dog's Canine Cottages Air Conditioner Crowdrise  Fundraiser!
Crowdrise Fundraiser
We are in desperate need for six, 6000 BTU unit air conditioners, costing approximately $130 a piece, give or take, depending which store, Costco or Walmart that
have them in stock. We need to replace two of the units that have stopped working due to the dirt and high usage in the last few years.

We know the heat will start by weeks end and we need to go ASAP to find the units, all the electric cords that go with it and get installers to come and put them in. This will take time, but could be done within the week with your help! We are also in need of 40 doggy play pools to service the 100 rescue dogs, who love to frolic in the pools for fun, exercise and to cool off in the hot temperatures. The baby pools cost about $10 each. Please help by making a donation to our fundraiser. Any amount will help and is much appreciated! Thank you! To rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome the wonderful companion dogs that are being abandoned at alarming rates. However, I need your help to make this happen.

I'm asking you to participate in my birthday donation challenge.
We have 6200 followers who receive this newsletter. If each of you donated $2 THIS week, we'd raise $12,400 THIS week. $2 makes a difference. Please?!

Together we CAN make a difference.
