My mother, Pearl, sparked my life-long commitment to protect our Planet Earth. Among all of Earth’s natural beauties, water has always enchanted me the most. Betsy and I live with our daughter, Pearl, on a beautiful pond. Looking out our living room window, I witnessed the environmental damage up close. As I investigated the problem on our little pond, it became clear that lawns (and lawn care) were a primary culprit. The deeper I dug, the more compelling case for change became. So, I set out on an eight year journey to save our pond and in the process found a solution to save our waters and save you money, too!

We Americans love our lawns but we are addicted to high maintenance lawn care. Protecting our waters depends critically on changing how we care for our lawns. We will honor and cherish the earth’s finite resources by educating the public about soil carbon sequestration, water savings, and to one of the most important ways they can help – by the simple act of planting an extraordinary grass that will pull carbon out of the atmosphere and store it in the soil like no other lawn grass. Pearl’s Premium is deeply rooted in the idea and proven science that we can move carbon from the air back into the soil for the health of the planet and every creature on it.

We will continue to educate the public to the dangers of toxic lawn chemicals by way of educational workshops, and by offering alternative solutions. We will advise and partner with individuals, municipalities, universities, cemeteries, golf courses and others around the world to establish safe, sustainable lawns. For inner cities, we will recommend green roofs to help lessen urban heat island effect, improve storm water management, to absorb carbon and release oxygen, and to increase energy efficiency in buildings.
