All of us at the Doris Day Animal Foundation have been truly overwhelmed by your outpouring of love, condolences and donations for the “precious four-leggers” in memory of our dear Doris. She was a beloved friend and mentor to us and an inspiration to the world -- especially the animal welfare community. Your support meant the world to her and makes it possible for DDAF to continue its crucial work, funding other non-profit animal welfare organizations and programs that directly improve the lives of animals.
DDAF’s small, long-time staff and board of directors were personally selected or approved by Doris many years ago because we share her passion for making this a better world for the animals. We have dedicated a good part of our lives to Doris’ great cause and are just as invested in the important work we do as she was. We conscientiously strive to reduce expenses to cut overhead so that your donations can go to programs that directly benefit the animals.
Please visit our Facebook page for stories and testimonials from our grantees so you can see specifically where your donations are put to work. Our annual IRS Form 990 can be found on our website, and if you haven’t visited lately, we invite you to get re-acquainted with our staff and our work. In short, we assure you that DDAF will continue to operate under the same rules and guidelines, dedicated to Doris’ vision and purpose to make her proud, as always.
While Doris’ tremendous career legacy will live on thanks to the technology of film, television, iTunes and YouTube, she founded DDAF and DDAL to carry out her life’s mission and the cause closest to her heart: helping animals and the people who love them. This was the legacy she wanted to leave the world, and all of us at DDAF are committed to keep her dream alive by continuing the critical work she started 41 years ago, per her wishes. Of course, we can’t do it without you, so on behalf of the millions of animals we’ve helped in the past and plan to help in the future, we send a big thank you for your support!
