Women Owned-and-Operated Company, Treat-ibles, Makes Pooches Feel Pleasant with CBD!

With cannabis in the daily news, people have grown accustomed to stories about legalization and medical cannabis. But few Americans hear stories about Cannabis and Hemp products saving the lives of dogs.

Pet owners throughout California are learning that Treat-ibles' cannabidiol-infused (CBD) pet treats have a place in overall wellness.

“I was going to bring my dog to the vet today for anesthesia,” said a crying customer. “I couldn’t bear to watch her suffer with the pain anymore! I had an appointment to do it at 11am - but I postponed it until 5pm. I needed more time with her. She couldn’t walk with her bow legs; and the pain had gotten so bad that she wouldn’t get up. My son, who works at a dispensary in Los Angeles, heard about the Treat-ibles and sent me four of them. Within an hour she stood up and even jumped up on the couch. I couldn’t believe it! I was literally preparing myself to let her go. Now, I feel like I have my best friend back.”

This story, and many others like it, inspire the small staff at Treat-ibles to continue baking their products in hopes of helping thousands of dogs throughout the state. While the FDA doesn’t have a position on the medical implications of CBD, pet owners everywhere are noticing a difference in their dog’s attitude and well-being. In fact, while many companies have received letters asking the manufacturers to remove medical claims from their promotions, Treat-ibles has simply deferred to the research and trusted the opinions of their customers.

“It’s hard to deny them,” said Julianna Carella, Founder of the Oakland, California-based company. “These people make me cry every time! Their emotions are overwhelming on the phone. It’s hard not to get choked up.”

While few veterinarians understand cannabidiol, pet owners find confidence in the fact that CBD is nontoxic and plant-derived. Treat-ibles makes their proprietary blend of CBD extracts from a responsible hemp resource to ensure the whole-plant extract contains the subtle compounds also found in the plant. The company also follows a rigorous quality-assurance protocol instituted by CW Analytical Labs to ensure their products are held to high standards. These careful considerations have helped elevate Treat-ibles as a quality brand. While some other CBD pet products, independently tested by a third party, prove to contain very little CBD (merely a few milligrams in the entire bag!) the Treat-ibles consistently tested at 1mg of CBD per treat.

Due to the lack of knowledge and regulations surrounding products infused with cannabidiol, the Treat-ibles team have engaged with CW Analytical Labs to help them maintain an elevated level of consistency, purity, and safety. “This industry is truly unique,” said Carella. “California has very few regulations surrounding cannabis production with THC - but nothing about CBD! We’ve turned to the health department and pet food regulators to maintain best practices.”

“Dogs are our best friends,” said Carella. “Treat-ibles is our way of showing them how much that bond means to us!”
