Dr. Babette Gladstein is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine. She did post-doctoral work in veterinary acupuncture at the American Academy of Veterinary Medical Acupuncture at Colorado State University , as well as pre-veterinary studies at Hunter College in New York City.
She is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), the American Veterinarian Medical Association (AVMA), and the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association (AHVMA). Dr. Babette Gladstein has also been affiliated with The New York Racing Association, Meadowlands Raceway, and US Equestrian.
As a licensed veterinarian in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida and California, Dr. Babette Gladstein’s treatment modality expertise includes acupuncture, ultrasound, chiropractic and massage therapy.
Since the mid ‘80s, Dr. Babette Gladstein has observed and studied the benefits of nutrition and nutritional supplements in animal care and treatments. She’s followed this up with investigations into therapeutic ultrasound, massage and acupuncture, as well as physical therapy for horses.
A graduate of the American Academy of Veterinary Medical Acupuncture at CSU, Dr. Gladstein participated in the oldest, longest-running, science-based training program in acupuncture developed for veterinarians in North America . Medical acupuncture (acupuncture based on current biomedical understanding) has become a respected and popular modality of treatment for humans and, likewise, is fast becoming a highly regarded therapy for animals.
Her expertise in oncology also includes involvement in the development of new cancer therapies at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York City. At the Wistar Institute in Philadelphia , PA , she participated in genetic skin studies by recording the effects of UV rays leading to melanoma.
