Please keep you and your family safe. If you know of or see an animals in trouble PLEASE DO SOMETHING! We are the only voice they have and many folks don't realize their pets, cant take these freezing temps and need to brought indoors. The pets will get sick or die in these freezing temperatures!

We are hard at work continue to rescue and make space in the shelters. We wanted to bring to you our newest video about just one rescue dog that is in our overcrowded shelters!

Check out Ruby's story below!
Be Prepared in Emergencies!

Make sure to update microchip information and have your veterinarian info on hand in case of emergencies. You never know when you may need the help!

Read our helpful tips below!
CANCER AND OBESITY IN AMERICA’S PETS
WHAT FOODS ARE SAFE?

Many of you are hearing the same scary information concerning your pets food, it IS SCARY and confusing everyone.

I shop in stores and see people with big POPULAR bags of dog food in their carts and I cringe. I know the food is making their dogs sick, obese and potentially life threatening through illnesses such as Cancer!

After feeding over 3,000 dogs over my rescue lifetime, I know exactly what has been fed and where obesity and Cancer come from.

I have learned that WHITE POTATO is an absolute; never feed, as it will most likely, cause the cancer cells in their bodies to feed and grow!  Sweet potato, on the other hand, is safe and fine to feed.

The questions about legumes, peas and lentils causing heart disease is a big topic of conversation, but in small doses, there is no proof that it leads to heart disease in dogs. The test studies have NOT BEEN DONE!

Simple rule of thumb: Dogs and cats, used to hunt for their food, which was a single protein. No additives. They ate grass for the enzymes to digest their dinner.

So keep it simple and basic!

Read your food bags and cans! The more ingredients listed usually indicates they are not actually putting in enough good meat in the product.

I believe in cost effective, quality food, with real meat, as America’s love for animals has grown,. More people rescue pets off the street or from shelters, but our difficult economy, does not afford high priced foods for our pets.

NEW COOKBOOK FOR DOGS PROVES
THE HEALING POWER OF WHOLE FOODS

"Yin & Yang Nutrition for Dogs"
-A Natural Approach to Pet Health-

Home cooking for your dog may sound extravagant, but the key to good health is proper nutrition and pets are no exception. Canned, processed pet food has been directly linked to poor pet health and the truth is processed foods are just as bad for pets as they are for humans.Luckily, making food for your dog doesn’t have to be complicated or costly! In her new book,Yin & Yang Nutrition for Dogs, holistic veterinarian, Dr. Judy Morgan will show you easy, whole food recipes to keep your dog naturally healthy (and off medication.)

WHY YOU NEED THIS BOOK:

While many pet owners like the idea of feeding their dogs a natural, whole foods diet, the logistics and cost of doing so can be overwhelming. This book is an easy-to-use and fun resource that proves cooking for your pet doesn't have to be costly or time consuming. Why should you prepare food for your pets? It’s simple. The pet food industry has let you down. Today it is widely known and accepted that diet and nutrition is linked to good health for humans but the vet industry has yet to catch up. Since the advent of processed food for pets, the pandemic of degenerative health problems has escalated in dogs and cats. People have depended on the pet food industry to provide wholesome nutrition to keep their pets healthy. Pet food labels often include words likeholistic, natural, andhuman grade; but in reality, ingredients are often waste products from the human food industry or rendered meals from diseased animal carcasses. The pet food industry has spent millions of advertising and teaching dollars to convince veterinarians and the pet-owning public that the only way to provide a complete diet is to feed processed industrial food....but the truth is, processed foods are just as bad for pets as they are for humans."If your dog is eating a prescription diet recommended by your veterinarian you are most likely paying a lot for a product that is not optimal for your pet,"says Judy Morgan, DVM, who operates two veterinary hospitals in New Jersey that offer an integrative approach to pet care combining holistic medicine with traditional western techniques. In this book, Dr. Morgan offers tips and interesting information on animal health and wellness that is useful for any pet owner. Dr. Morgan shows pet owners how to determine the right ingredients and quantities based on their pets’ health, condition, and behavior. The language is understandable without being over simplified and the book includes a wealth of photographs making the recipes easy-to-follow.

"Yin & Yang Nutrition for Dogs is a dog nutrition Bible for anyone who wants to keep their dog in peak condition. While there are a number of websites dedicated to whole and raw food canine diets, this is the most detailed and information-rich resource I’ve encountered."

-Jack Magnus, Amazon Reviewer

Easy To Use

Giving your pet a daily nutrition pill can be a real challenge? No reason to torture your pet by sticking pills in their mouth and holding it shut hoping they swallow them. It’s A Tasty Treat

Many people have trouble getting their pet to finish a meal. Their pet may be picky or just bored. Some owners try to entice their pet by using cheese, table scraps or even by using real ketchup or barbeque sauce, which is full of sugar and other stuff! Petchup Nutritional Condiments have a taste and zest that pets love and has been proven to keep tails wagging to the last crumb. Most owners report their pet licks the corners of the bowl clean after each meal.

For pets on restricted diets or medicated veterinary preparations, Petchup Nutritional Condiments make these foods much more palatable and interesting with no sugar and low calories. That’s good news!

You could spend many dollars on individual products that Petchup Nutritional Condiments contain. It’s easy to spend at least $10 per month on the daily benefits of glucosamine. That’s a real value!

Have you ever considered changing your usual dry food for one with better nutrition only to find that premium bag adds another $20-$40 on top of what you normally spend? Petchup products can save you money when added to your current food. Imagine adding a bottle of Petchup, for less than $8.00 to your regular food while equaling the nutrition of the more expensive brand. Result? EVANGER’S INTRODUCES USA MADE MEAT-BASED NUTRITION FOR FERRETS

New premium canned dinners are specifically designed to support health and vitality of carnivorous critters

WHEELING, IL (August 14, 2013) Evanger’s is thrilled to announce the launch of an entirely new line of pet food designed specifically for ferrets. Using the same human-grade, USA-sourced ingredients from its trusted lines of dog and cat foods, Evanger’s for Ferrets features premium meat-based nutrition for a more natural diet.

“We are excited to extend our reach into small animal nutrition,” said Holly Sher, President of Evanger’s. “Because ferrets are obligate carnivores with a notably short digestive tract, our high quality, easily digestible meats are a natural fit for an optimum ferret diet.”

Ferrets often imprint on their first food after weaning, establishing it as the only food it will eat. That trait makes it crucial to provide a food meeting the nutritional requirements a ferret demands. While the average lifespan of a domesticated ferret is five years, they can survive up to 20 years with the correct diet.

Dry ferret foods on the market typically contain less protein and fat than Evanger's for Ferrets. While some of the protein in dry food is derived from vegetable or fruit ingredients, Evanger's protein is entirely meat based with added taurine.

Evanger's for Ferrets meets nutritional demands by using the maximum amount of meat, and completing the diet with egg, vitamins and chelated minerals for a truly natural diet.

MADE IN THE USA in the kitchens of Evanger’s, each complete and balanced ferret dinner is cooked in an individual can to retain its juicy flavor and nutrition. Available in chicken, beef and turkey, these moist, meaty meals offer superior taste and bioavailability, while supporting the unique nutritional needs of these carnivorous critters.

Evanger’s for Ferrets is available in Chicken, Beef and Turkey
