“The feel-good pop-country track urges listeners to be strong in the face of adversity. With stunning three-part harmonies, inspiring lyrics and soaring guitar parts, the anthem strikes a chord.” - Annie Reuter, Billboard
Dancers Kristal Lynn, who was at Borderline the night of the shooting, and Annemarie Dunn choreographed a special dance for the debut of “Country Strong” at Stagecoach Music Festival in April. The song has since been featured on playlists like “Cool Country” on Apple Music, “New Music Nashville” on Spotify and “Stagecoach 2019” on Amazon Music. The song has also been played heavily by Radio Country Disney and Southern California’s KFRG and received rave reviews following its release.
Rolling Stone Country calls it one of the “best Country and Americana songs to hear now” and an “anthemic tribute.”
The Los Angeles Times says of their performance at Stagecoach “for sheer emotional impact, it will be hard for any of the superstar acts playing at the three-day Stagecoach country music festival to top what transpired Saturday.”
Huffington Post calls “Country Strong” a “heartfelt tribute.”
The Orange County Register labels it a “song for healing and unity.”
In addition, Dani, Katie and Devon were guests on Westwood One’s “Breaking Thru with Elaina” this past weekend. The trio continues to see much success from their High on the Radio EP release earlier this year, and several singles as “Love Someone” was prominently placed on the final season of CMT’s “Nashville” while “Los Angeles” was featured on E! About Honey County
Rooted in three-part vocal harmonies, southern twang, and pop hooks, Honey County is a female country trio featuring the stacked voices, songwriting and layered guitar work of bandmates Dani Rose, Devon Jane and Katie Stump. As one of Rolling Stone's “Top 10 Artists You Need To Know,” the band has maintained a busy schedule both onstage and in the studio, sharing shows with artists like Lady Antebellum, Brett Eldredge, Jake Owen and Easton Corbin. With a prestigious placement of their song “Love Someone” featured in an episode of CMT's “Nashville” this past summer, and the remix of “Los Angeles” on the NFL Network, the band is continuously working on new music fresh off the release of their EP, High on the Radio, in February 2019. At Stagecoach 2019, Honey County debuted “Country Strong” an “anthemic tribute” [Rolling Stone], to those affected by the Route 91 and Borderline shootings. The song went on to receive critical acclaim and be supported by Apple Music, Spotify, Radio Disney Country and more. A portion of the proceeds continue to be donated to ACM Lifting Lives. Their music can be heard frequently on Radio Disney Country, an early supporter of the band. Visit honeycounty.com for more information.

Natalia Morris, oldest sister and main songwriter for SOUTHERN HALO, will join host Jon Patch this Saturday, April 21, live on his Talkin’ Pets radio show to chat about their upcoming album, as well as their love of animals and array of pets (fish, birds, cat, dog and hamster.)
The concept-driven, dream-inspired JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIES. This 14-track package, produced by Catt Gravitt and Gerald O'Brien, mirrors the emotional and musical growth of Natalia, Hannah and Christina Morris, the three sisters from the Mississippi Delta who form SOUTHERN HALO.
Inspired by a dream of Natalia's, JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIES features 10 songs written or co-written by the lead vocalist/guitarist, and four titles from Music City's hottest tunesmiths. The catchy ode to the glories of Southern womanhood, "Southern Halo," kicks off the project and marks the first "scene" of this movie-made-music. A co-write with Roxie Dean, the strong, multi-layered vocals and sing-along chorus make this a natural choice for the first "instant gratification track" offered with each iTunes and Amazon pre-order of the CD. The disc is the second outing for the trio with SESAC's 2012 Writer of the Year Catt Gravitt (Kelly Clarkson, Jake Owen) and Gerald O'Brien (Martina McBride, Trace Adkins) at the helm.
Continuing the album's theme is the first single "Anything Is Possible." Written by Gravitt and award-winning songwriter/producer Carl Falk, the hooky, upbeat track is a veritable anthem to the power of positive thinking and is already resonating at Country radio. A lyric video, featuring performance footage, can be seen on YouTube.
JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIES explores the excitement found and challenges faced when chasing one's dream. The eagerness to experience new places is offset by the longing for the constant comforts of home, while the idea that anyone can indeed reach for the stars is reinforced. Natalia, Hannah and Christina continue to prove that dreams do come true - if you work hard and believe. Highlights abound, and the tracks range from Rock-ish ("My Girls & Me") to beautifully poignant ("Not Today") to confrontational ("Hey Boy").
The album's title track is a Pop/Rock-infused, modern-day fairytale that features underscored Rap-style background vocals and a sultry yet whimsical feel. Written by Gravitt, Jana Kramer and Brian Kierulf, "Just Like In The Movies" showcases SOUTHERN HALO's diversity and their fearless approach to music. The track was singled in the U.K. late last year and enjoyed enormous success.
"Missing Mississippi," written by Natalia and Jennifer Adan, slows things down with the true tale of Natalia's first night in her new Nashville home. Sweet, reflective and emotional, the song shows that sacrifices are always made in pursuit of the dreams that inspire us. Another track that shines the light on leaving, "Famous" tells the tale of the loneliness that can surround stardom. Penned with Alex Dooley, the message is deep - and partially hidden by a seductive melody. "Tom Girl," written with Melissa Bollea Rowe, describes a character familiar to the Morris sisters: someone who loves to get their hands dirty, but also loves to dress up for special occasions. As Natalia says, "everyone talks about 'tom boys' or 'girly girls' - no one ever talks about 'tom girls.' Christina loves fishing while Hannah rides horses and I enjoy building projects in our backyard, but we love to get prettied up for a night out. We're all 'tom girls.'"
Tom girls they may be, but Natalia, Hannah and Christina are all driven by the same dream. Music inspired SOUTHERN HALO; now their songs are inspiring young Country fans everywhere. Drummer Christina and bassist Hannah are still in their late teens, and Natalia just recently crossed over into her early 20s. They're exploring, challenging themselves to take risks and raise their bar - and JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIES proves they have reached new heights - and they are proud of it. This new album is poised to follow the phenomenal success of their previous, eponymous CD, and is sure to bring new listeners to the fold as it breaks new ground for the trio.
My Girls & Me
I Think Too Much
Anything Is Possible
Gettin' Back Up
It's Always Been You
Just Like In The Movies
ABOUT SOUTHERN HALO
Since their hypnotically-upbeat Country radio debut, "Little White Dress," caught the attention of U.S. radio and press (spending eight weeks at #1 on the International Hotdisc Chart) this sibling trio has broken down doors and shattered glass ceilings. Their sophomore single, "Rewind," was a U.S. Top 40 MusicRow CountryBreakout™ Chart hit that also held the #1 spot on the Hotdisc Chart for two weeks. If you were to turn on an old transistor radio and tune it to a country station, you might hear legends like Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, and Johnny Cash crooning from the speakers… but newcomer Paul Bogart could just as easily fit alongside that vintage lineup. Though his songs are fresh and he himself is young, he is an old soul with a knack for capturing time-honored traditions and summing up classic sentiments in catchy, three-minute songs. Exuding sincerity and a rare, down-to-earth charm, Paul Bogart is, simply put, the epitome of traditional country music.
Possessing elements of a quippy, good-natured Brad Paisley song along with the boots-and-spurs appeal of a George Strait tune, Bogart’s music additionally radiates authenticity, a core component of country music.
Bogart’s new release, Leather, is the perfect paradigm of that Old West lifestyle that Bogart himself lives and breathes, “This album is about hard work, hustle, and loving the woman God gave you,” he says candidly. “It’s about keeping your head down when you win and crawling back in the saddle when you hit the ground.” Sentiments Bogart knows firsthand, having grown up in north-east Oklahoma to a family of truckers, team ropers and musicians; the title track, “Leather,” hearkens back to those Heartland roots and homegrown work ethic. “I think about my grandparents and how hard they worked to make it,” muses Paul. “It’s given me inspiration and motivation to work hard and never give up on my dreams.” Indeed, Leather taps into the belief that there’s beauty that comes from weathering storms together and seeing tough times through; it’s an anthem for anyone who’s ever pressed on, persevered, or prayed for something better.
Paul’s lead single and video, “All That Cowboy Jazz,” is an infectious western swing song that will have listeners on their feet, boot-scootin’ across the floor in seconds. Co-written with a Hall of Fame radio DJ (WSM’s Bill Whyte) and a world class multi-instrumentalist (Zach Runquist), Bogart lists the let-loose, line-dance-potential number as a personal favorite from the album.
Produced by Sony Nashville recording artist Trent Willmon (Little Big Town’s “Rain on a Tin Roof,” Montgomery Gentry’s “Back When I Knew It All”), Leather was released on September 8th, 2017.

July 19, 2016
Los Angeles – based Country music artist Leslie Cours Mather will join host Jon Patch this Saturday, July 23, live on his Talkin’ Pets radio show.
The songstress is now promoting her newest single, the patriotic rallying cry for unity that is “We Are America.” Leslie explains, “With the increasing violence, terrorism, political unrest and division in our country, it seems more important than ever to remember who we are,” Leslie notes. “This is a great country, and I hope people will remember our amazing foundation and the sacrifice it took to become a nation in the first place.”
While her first three singles were targeted specifically at the Country market, “We Are America” was released to radio stations of virtually every genre.
The past 18 months have taken singer/songwriter Leslie Cours Mather on an amazing ride, and it’s one she says she will never forget. “My first single was ‘Countrified’ - which went to the Top 40 on the MusicRow CountryBreakout™ Chart. For a debut single and a newbie who hasn’t had experience with the formal music industry, I was very excited about that. Then, we had ‘Hell Hath No Fury,’ which I started performing on a radio tour.”
The high-octane “That Was The Whiskey” followed, and all three tracks made their mark. Add to that a much-buzzed-about performance at the CMA Music Festival, three videos, plus a Christmas single, and Leslie has established herself as a newcomer of extraordinary talent.
LESLIE COURS MATHER's
"We Are America" A Patriotic Rallying
Cry For Unity; New Single At Radio Now
Mathers wrote the compelling song immediately after 9/11. "I was heartbroken," she recalls. "But all over Los Angeles, you'd see countless American flags flying from cars. Our country was unified - briefly." Leslie, a self-professed Army "brat," admits to feeling a certain level of disappointment when LA Lakers' flags replaced the stars and stripes just a few short months later. "I think that if people are indifferent we have a problem," Mather states. "It seems more important than ever that we remember that we are a people united by this country we call home ... united we stand; divided we fall. That's what 'We Are America' is all about - and why we're releasing it now."
The single is already generating an outpouring of accolades from radio personalities, programmers and music reviewers:
"Her emotional, high-powered delivery leaves no doubt about how close this song is to her heart ... (with) a bold arrangement and a powerful celebratory chorus ... she puts out the call for everyone to band together as Americans ...This is the right time for this song, period, and it's delivered by a singer who's got the goods." - MUSIC NEWS AUSTIN(Rick Moore)
"Perfect song for the times . . . Country listeners will get it." - WKKW Radio (Big John)
"Thank you Leslie for standing up for God, Family, Country and Our Troops! We Love the song and we will always have your back! Stand tall!! You are the real deal!" - COUNTRY THEN AND NOW RADIO (Tommy & Angela Mouser)
"Leslie is inspiring our country with this beautiful patriotic rendition, one note at a time!- ROKU CHANNEL Nashville Country Stars TV (Laura Dodd)
"It's an exceptional song that speaks the words that we all need to hear. Despite all the issues we're dealing with these days, the USA is still the greatest nation on the planet. Thank you for the reminder Leslie." - WMCI Radio (Bub McCullough)
"This is a song that needs to be added, and played, not just on the 4th of July, but year round. Thanks Leslie." - COUNTRY GOLD NETWORK (Mike Carlin)
"Leslie is back with a song to pull us together in these times of division and indecision. 'We Are America' should tug at the hearts of all Americans. With attacks from outside and inside, "We Are America" IS the song we need to hear." - KDKD RADIO (Dave Young)
"We Are America" shows Mather in a new light. Her previous three MusicRow
CountryBreakout™ Chart singles ("That Was The Whiskey," "Hell Hath No Fury," "Countrified") were targeted at Country audiences and more focused on the singer's sense of fun and showcasing her amazing vocal versatility. Appealing to a broader scope of listeners, the new release takes an unapologetic patriotic stand. "I always try to bring a message of hope and goodness into my music," Leslie says. "I think anyone from a military family has a heightened sense of patriotism; I certainly do - and my hope is to see people fall in love with America again."
Produced by Denny Diante (Elton John, Barbra Streisand, B.B. King) and recorded at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, the single features Country/Rock band Calabama on the powerful repeated chorus. Leslie recalls, "The atmosphere was a creative person's paradise, and when we started adding the talents of Brent Mason, Bobby Terry and Buddy Hyatt, it just kept getting better and better. Every layer we added - musicians, lead vocals, background vocals, the mix, the master - the song just got more and more powerful."

Dogs transported to temporary shelter to receive medical care
Madison, Tenn.—At the request of Metro Animal Care and Control, the ASPCA® (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) today removed 41 dogs from Happy Endings Animal Rescue (HEAR), a self-described no-kill dog rescue eight miles north of Nashville, Tenn. The Nashville Police Department executed a warrant Tuesday morning for the removal of the dogs, and the owner was arrested on charges of animal cruelty.
The seizure is the result of numerous public complaints about conditions at HEAR, which has been operating for 19 years. HEAR’s website states it is “the largest privately run non-profit animal rescue in Nashville”.
The dogs—including Chow, Pit Bull, Shepherd mixes and other medium to large breed dogs—were living in feces and filth inside an overcrowded house and outdoor kennels. One room alone held 22 dogs, with feces covering the floor. The dogs were suffering from medical issues including emaciation, dental disease, and severe hair loss. Some were not spayed or neutered and had no access to food or water.
“What we found here is horrific,” said Kathryn Destreza, Investigations Director for the ASPCA Field Investigations and Response team. “This facility claimed to be a safe place for animals, but the truth is these dogs were suffering greatly, both physically and mentally. Our immediate goal is to get them much-needed medical attention at our temporary shelter.”
“We are glad to have the expertise and experience that the ASPCA brings to this case,” said Rebecca Morris spokesperson for Metro Animal Care and Control “We are pleased that the animals will be receiving the necessary medical care and attention they deserve.”
The ASPCA Field Investigations and Response team is removing and transporting the dogs to a temporary shelter in an undisclosed location, where they will receive medical exams and behavioral assessments. The ASPCA will continue to care for the dogs at the temporary shelter until their custody is determined by the court. They will also provide ongoing legal support until resolution of the criminal case.
About the ASPCA®
Founded in 1866, and celebrating its 150th birthday this year, the ASPCA® (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) is the first animal welfare organization in North America and serves as the nation’s leading voice for animals. More than two million supporters strong, the ASPCA’s mission is to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States. As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, the ASPCA is a national leader in the areas of anti-cruelty, community outreach and animal health services. Popular Country Newcomer Alexandra Demetree's Acoustic Music Video,"Outta My Head," Premieres Today On THE BOOT
"Delivering a passionate and aching vocal somewhere between LeAnn Rimes and Kelly Clarkson, Demetree fits right in with today's country radio." - Music News Miami

Nashville, TN (October 22, 2015) -- Popular Country newcomer Alexandra Demetree's new acoustic music video, "Outta My Head,"premieres today on THE BOOT. Filmed at a vast, aged warehouse in Nashville's historic Germantown district, the video is stunning in its stark simplicity. Demetree's emotionally-charged vocal and the song's high-impact lyrics take center stage, while abundant natural daylight, a sense of space and timelessness play supporting roles. Producer/director Brian Harstine's (Dolly Parton, Ke$ha) minimalistic approach kept the camera focused on Demetree, three supporting musicians (Josh O'Keefe, Jason Roller and Jaran Sorenson), and a few quirky "abandoned" props
Alexandra Demetree "Outta My Head" video
"It was a very straightforward concept," explains Alexandra. "The entire focus was on showcasing the emotion and musical validity of the song in an organic way." For Demetree, returning to the basics was an exciting challenge. "To go back to square one and make an acoustic version of this dynamic, mid-tempo power ballad was just a fantastic experience." The single, produced by Bobby Huff (Reba, 3 Doors Down, Journey, Heart) and written by Mark and Cherie Oakley, is rising on the MusicRow CountryBreakout™ Chart, currentlysitting at # 60. "Outta My Head" delves into the reminders left behind when a relationship ends: the photos, the empty space beside the bed and more. It's a tale that most listeners can relate to, and it follows the petite brunette's three previous successful Country radio releases, including the popular single/video duet of her own composition, "Lay It On Me," with The Bachelorette's Wes Hayden.
Demetree wraps a four-day radio promotion tour of Oklahoma today; the tour will resume in a few weeks. She continues to work on her upcoming EP. Fans can learn more about Alexandra from recent features at The Daily Country, Music News San Francisco, Digital Rodeo and One Stop Country.
ABOUT ALEXANDRA DEMETREE
Alexandra's first performance, at the tender age of two, was singing Christmas carols for her Grandma's bridge group. Throughout her childhood, she sang in her church choir - in Latin. Music quickly became Demetree's passion and her life goal - to the extent that this true "Southerner," traveled all the way to Illinois to secure a degree from Northwestern University's prestigious musical theater program. With musical influences ranging from Motown, Celine Dion, LeAnn Rimes, David Nail, Garth Brooks, Adele and The Eli Young Band, it's no surprise that this native Floridian is an inspiring and energetic performer. - Sluggo Smith is an orphan as is Nancy. Perhaps that is their natural bond. He is lazy, but dreams that impossible dreams are possible. But not if, you know, he has to actually work "too hard" to achieve them! He loves to nap, play the guitar, nap, fish, nap, sing, nap, meditate.....and nap.
- Rollo, the stereotypical but nonetheless friendly rich kid. In the early 1940s, the rich kid was known as Marmaduke. It is possible that the name was changed to avoid confusion with Marmaduke, an unrelated comic strip by Brad Anderson that debuted in 1954.
- Irma, Nancy's nondescript girlfriend.
- Spike (aka Butch), the town bully who frequently knocks out Sluggo. Sluggo occasionally gets one over on Spike, however.
- Oona Goosepimple, the spooky looking child who lived in a haunted house down the road from Nancy's house. She only appeared in the comic book version of the strip, during John Stanley's tenure in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
- Marigold, Sluggo's tomboy cousin.
- Pee Wee, a neighborhood toddler.
- Poochie, Nancy's nondescript dog. In current strips, Nancy also has a cat named Rocky and a goldfish called Goldie.
On January 2, 1933, Ernie Bushmiller introduced Fritzi's niece, Nancy. Soon she dominated the daily strip, which was retitled Nancy in 1938. Comics historian Don Markstein detailed the evolution, as the readership of Fritzi Ritz increased. Bushmiller's bold, clear art style, combined with his ability to construct a type of gag that appealed to a very broad audience, brought the strip to new heights of popularity—and his introduction of Fritzi's niece, Nancy, in 1933, carried it higher yet. Two important developments occurred in 1938. Sluggo Smith, Nancy's friend from the "wrong side of the tracks", was introduced in January; and later that year, Aunt Fritzi's name was dropped from the title of the daily strip, which continued as Nancy.
At the same time, Bushmiller's Sunday page underwent a similar change. Formerly, half of it had been devoted to Fritzi and the other half to her boyfriend, Phil Fumble. Phil's half was taken over by Nancy. Years later, when newspaper space became tighter and cartoonists were no longer allowed whole pages to themselves, Fritzi's half disappeared, and the transformation was complete. Fritzi Ritz was a bit player where she had formerly been the star. Phil Fumble made a reappearance in the November 27, 2012 strip. At its peak in the 1970s, Nancy ran in more than 880 newspapers.
Al Plastino worked on Sunday episodes of Nancy in 1982-83 after Bushmiller died. During that period, David Letterman showed on TV a Nancy panel with Plastino's signature and made a joke about Plastino as a superhero name. (Letterman's writers were apparently unaware that Plastino was known for his superheroes.)
The strip has continued to the present day by different writers and artists. Mark Lasky briefly handled the strip in 1983 before handing the strip over to Jerry Scott (1984–94), who drew the strip in a much different, more modern style than other adaptations. In 1995, Guy and Brad Gilchrist assumed control of the strip, returning the artwork to its traditional forms. The strip has an international popularity, especially in Japan and South America. It runs as Periquita in several dozen Spanish-language newspapers.

Musician’s Rescued Dog Center Of DNA-Guessing Contest To Benefit Animal Charity, Live Show Set To Announce Winners
“My wife, Ashley, rescued her from the Metro Animal Control facility a couple of days after the flood, where she was going to be put down soon, and we’ve always wondered exactly what kind of dog she was,” Kohrs says. “As a birthday gift to Ashley, I arranged for Coulter to have her DNA tested and the mystery to finally be solved.”
Coulter is one of two rescue dogs the couple has acquired, and they spend their days entertaining clients at Kohrs’ Slack Key Studio in Nashville – to the point that they’ve even been thanked in CD liner notes by some of those clients!
“The artists and musicians that come through here always ask what she is, and we would joke that we should start a betting pool for it. Then, we just thought, ‘why not do that?’ Only, instead of it being a gamble, make it a contest that would help other homeless animals,” he explains. “Ashley asked Tanya Willis, the head of Agape Animal Rescue, if they’d like to be the recipients of the proceeds, and it’s all come together really fast as a result!”
Participants in the “Wutt’s the Mutt” contest will donate $5 to guess what they believe to be the top three breeds that make up the dog in question. The top three winners will be announced on June 2nd, 2012, at the Station Inn in Nashville at the Randy Kohrs & Friends Jam Benefiting Agape Animal Rescue show, where proceeds from ticket sales will also go to the charity (discounts for participants). Prizes will include autographed CD’s from some of Slack Key Studio’s clients, including award-winning singer-songwriters, Jim Lauderdale and Larry Cordle, as well as other treats for both people and pets.
For more information on how to submit your guess, as well as see pictures and video footage of Coulter, visit the “Wutt’s the Mutt? Contest” page at www.slackkeystudio.com.
