November Update
Many of us are coming of a hard summer with fires and storms and now facing terrible, arctic early winter storms with dipping temperatures!

Please keep you and your family safe. If you know of or see an animals in trouble PLEASE DO SOMETHING! We are the only voice they have and many folks don't realize their pets, cant take these freezing temps and need to brought indoors. The pets will get sick or die in these freezing temperatures!

We are hard at work continue to rescue and make space in the shelters. We wanted to bring to you our newest video about just one rescue dog that is in our overcrowded shelters!

Check out Ruby's story below!
Be Prepared in Emergencies!

Make sure to update microchip information and have your veterinarian info on hand in case of emergencies. You never know when you may need the help!

Read our helpful tips below!
CANCER AND OBESITY IN AMERICA’S PETS
WHAT FOODS ARE SAFE?

Many of you are hearing the same scary information concerning your pets food, it IS SCARY and confusing everyone.

I shop in stores and see people with big POPULAR bags of dog food in their carts and I cringe. I know the food is making their dogs sick, obese and potentially life threatening through illnesses such as Cancer!

After feeding over 3,000 dogs over my rescue lifetime, I know exactly what has been fed and where obesity and Cancer come from.

I have learned that WHITE POTATO is an absolute; never feed, as it will most likely, cause the cancer cells in their bodies to feed and grow!  Sweet potato, on the other hand, is safe and fine to feed.

The questions about legumes, peas and lentils causing heart disease is a big topic of conversation, but in small doses, there is no proof that it leads to heart disease in dogs. The test studies have NOT BEEN DONE!

Simple rule of thumb: Dogs and cats, used to hunt for their food, which was a single protein. No additives. They ate grass for the enzymes to digest their dinner.

So keep it simple and basic!

Read your food bags and cans! The more ingredients listed usually indicates they are not actually putting in enough good meat in the product.

I believe in cost effective, quality food, with real meat, as America’s love for animals has grown,. More people rescue pets off the street or from shelters, but our difficult economy, does not afford high priced foods for our pets.

Here are a few brands I do feed to my 100 dogs in our rescue Wellness center:

“Taste of the Wild”- PINE FOREST recipe.
PREY- Grain free  (only found at feed and some boutique stores)

Stay Safe & Support Rescue Pets this 4th of July!
I am thinking of you, your family and your pets during this Fourth of July holiday!
Since the world is a bit crazier than years past, I just want to give a brief reminder to keep your eyes open, stay safe, and never put you, your family or your pets in compromising situations during this holiday season..
In California and many places around the country, there is an enormous amount of illegal fireworks being set of, as you already know. Your pets’ simply cannot stand this horrible time and they become stressed to the point they can break out of anywhere!
There are many herbal remedies available for animals in many pet stores, which we highly recommend! From now through the Fourth of July, at any time, day or night, reckless people will be shooting off fireworks and trying to scare and hurt animals.
Keep your pets inside and monitor them when they are outside! Please, keep your cat safe as well! I don’t want to go into details about bad teenagers and people that can hurt your pets! If you see an animal being hurt, please call 911!
I realize people want to go to parties and have fun but your pets have to be number one! Play gentle music loud enough to drown out as many noises as possible. TV programming that won’t upset your pets like a good movie or old-fashioned television shows that air constantly on different channels will also work to drown out the noise of fire crackers and M80s that unruly neighbors might be shooting off. Animals are able to hear the vibration way before you can! Put them away in a room… Just keep them safe! Don’t leave them in hot cars!
We have been saving people’s pets that have been abandoned at shelters for the last three weeks, and now we are down to the wire as the holiday approaches! The shelters are clearing out as many abandoned pets, as they can to make room for people’s pets that run away from the fireworks!
They are literally euthanizing really nice dogs and cats that just don’t deserve to be born to die because it’s the Fourth of July week!
Make sure your pets’ microchips are up-to-date! If you don’t have your dog or cat microchipped, maybe it is the time to make a veterinarian appointment and get one done! It’s a matter of finding your pet if they run away! Otherwise you’ll never see them again, that’s just the truth nowadays… I don’t want that for you. Below you will see some pictures of a few of the many dogs both small and large that we’ve been rescuing over the last few weeks. We still have many more coming in from a variety of shelters as we are trying to help out as much as we can all over Southern California.
Please donate! All donations will help save lives! It is an emergency fund raiser to help as many as we can. We still need food to feed them, portable water that has to be trucked in since we are in the high desert, baby pools for them to cool off in, in the high heat and we keep our window unit air conditioners working to cool down from the high heat so our electrical bills are pretty high!
No donation is too small or large! Right now the shelters are just begging for us to get the pets out to make room! We service our community. I volunteer all of my time in hours, crisscrossing the country, trying to educate on animal welfare, spay and neuter and stamp out animal abuse!
I am forever grateful for your love and support, and as usual we need it now more than ever during the summer! I’m counting on you.
 From the bottom my heart,
 Thank You & Stay Safe,
Linda Blair

Dear Friends,
Over the holiday weekend, Linda Blair Worldheart Foundation stepped in and saved 9 dogs that were in danger of losing their lives. These dogs were rescued from a Northern, CA. shelter. Due to the fires in Northern California and the overpopulation crisis of pets going on, these 9 dogs became an emergency rescue. California is still in emergency mode and rescues are still needed. We have been rescuing and doing what we can. Everyday, I am receiving sad emails of dogs in jeopardy. It takes hours every night to go through the emails and it is heart wrenching to see all these innocent animals facing euthanasia if they are not adopted or rescued. Please, please make a much needed donation today. These are difficult times and we need donations to help save more lives.

We truly need your help! All of the shelters are overfilled and they are begging rescues and people to adopt the many dogs and cats before they start euthanizing. (You can read the article here: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/local/all-la-city-animal-shelters-at-capacity-hundreds-of-pets-may-be-euthanized/ar-BBLnCRZ?ocid=se)

We have done what we could here at LBWF. We have been pulling emergency dogs since Memorial Day. We know right now we are in an emergency crisis with the animals but so few people are listening as the Country is so devastated. Our hearts go out to everyone affected. If you are able, would you please, please, make a donation today to help us.
This upcoming Tuesday, August 7th, the electric company is turning off the electricity in our area for nine hours so they can fix the electrical grid. The temperature is supposed to reach 107 degrees. We are in shock they are doing this and we are asking for donations to help us rent generators so we can keep the dogs cool and comfortable. The only way we can provide this is by renting three generators to hook up the mini air conditioning units, purchasing 100 blocks of ice for the baby pools so the dogs can lie in the cool water, and regular bags of ice. The cost of renting a generator is $250 each.
Everyone in the area is affected and we know there are many that are not thinking ahead but we truly are as we care for our rescued animals with all our hearts! Please help! We are also on fire alert every single day. Our emergency funds are very low and down to nothing because of having to spay and neuter most all of our rescue dogs since the shelters won’t. Please help us to help the dogs in need. We have rescued so many and save so many lives because of your support! You can donate by clicking the link below and please put a message of support in the message bar!
With Love & Thanks,
Linda Blair

We Need Your Help!

We have rescued so many dogs between Memorial Day and Fourth of July. We have placed some of them into wonderful homes and they have already gone to the beach and camping. Sadly, many of the shelters did not spay or neuter some of the dogs and/or didn’t provide certain medical care that was necessary so that now becomes our responsibility. We only feed grain free dog food that we purchase from Costco and there are a few other brands of food besides the Costco brand that we use to give the dogs a chance to live a cancer free life, long and happy with their new families. It’s very affordable but we need funds to feed and provide medical care, water, and electricity. The high heat of the desert is very difficult and we have been dealing with very high temperatures. The dogs all have baby pools and shade trees as the property is 11 1/2 years into its founding after Hurricane Katrina. Please help us to help them. There is no donation too small or too large. We count on you lovers of animals and our support team to help us through our hard times.
Below you will see a few of the dogs that have been rescued recently, along with our recent adoptions. The dogs are so grateful and you will see it in the photos below. We are so thankful for your support and joining the LBWF family in saving lives every day. Emergency funds are needed now more than ever. Please help us save and heal them from their sad abandonment.

Many of the original LBWF rescues were rescued during the height of the pitbull scare that started years ago and they never found their forever homes because people don’t want a 7 to 10-year-old dog. These dogs make up our senior club and they have been given a sanctuary for life
Again, pictured below are some of our seniors, Benji & Ellie are a bonded pair who were returned after giving years of love and companionship, because of a divorce. Ben, Beckett, Johnny, the list goes on and on and people still call surrendering dogs. It breaks our heart.
We try to educate and talk about the importance of spaying and neutering, stopping the pet overpopulation. The breeders are turning in dogs when they’re done with them. It’s all so sad. It’s a horrible marketing business but it’s what America has become for the pets.
So many of us have dedicated our lives to help them and we count on you to help support us with so many animals being mistreated and abandoned in the shelters, buildings and sad situations.

We talk about grain free food, so your pet may live a long and healthy life with you. They bring us the most joy as they are angels on earth and a gift to all of us in our daily lives to keep us going through these difficult times. We can’t give up on them. They need us more than ever!
Love,
Linda & the rescued dogs

 In Linda's Honor
Linda has made a huge difference in the lives of many and the LBWF team has started this fundraiser in honor of her birthday to celebrate a remarkable woman who has touched the lives of so many. Linda's birthday wish has been the same, to continue rescuing abandoned animals from the desert, home foreclosures, shelters and sadly emergency victims from natural disasters. Please help us give back to her and make her birthday wish come true.
Many have heard the stories of what inspired Linda to start rescuing and we know many may still wonder what is Linda Blair really like and what a day in the life of Linda Blair is like. As one of her volunteers I have been both privileged and honored to work with her side by side.  I will never forget the day I first stepped foot on the property of the LBWF Wellness Center. My mouth dropped open as I looked around. Linda calls it "design on a dime" but in reality it was designed with love. It is absolutely beautiful. You can't help but smile as you look around and see all these dogs celebrating their newfound freedom knowing they are safe in the hands of an angel.  There are a variety of dogs large and small, young to old at LBWF and they all have one thing in common; they are all really great dogs who receive an abundance of love. They are all very happy and quite entertaining. There are a lot of "zoomies" going on at LBWF. I was fortunate to also have met a few of the Katrina dogs that Linda personally rescued from Louisiana.
When Linda says she works 24/7, 365 days a year she is not lying. I am a witness to this. Linda has no holidays, sick days, vacation days, or weekends. Even on her birthday I can guarantee she will put in a full day's work and then some. So for those that would like to know what Linda Blair is really like, the first thought that comes to mind is she is like the Energizer Bunny, she keeps going and going. She is compassionate, and determined. She has a heart of gold and she truly does want to make the world a better place for both people and animals. She is funny and highly intelligent. But what is truly amazing is to see the bond Linda has with the dogs. The love she has for them shines through her and that is when you know you are in the presence of an Angel on Earth. On her computer you will see thousands of pictures of all the dogs Linda has rescued throughout the years. She remembers every single dog's story and nothing warms her heart more than receiving updates on her dogs that were adopted. So if any of our adopters are reading this, please remember to keep in touch and update us with stories and pictures!  Linda has a special gift when it comes to animals and there is no doubt rescuing is Linda's calling.
Linda does not live an easy life. Within 10 minutes of her waking up her work day begins. Linda is actively involved in the day to day routine of caring for the dogs. That is usually enough work for one, but not for Linda. Along with caring for the dogs she also looks over each application that comes in for one of the dogs. She personally makes the phone calls and spends a great deal of time getting to know a potential adopter. She is an incredible matchmaker and her main priority is finding the perfect dog for the adopter and the perfect home for the dog. On the days when potential adopters come to meet the dogs, Linda meets with them, showing them a variety of dogs. When the perfect match is found, Linda then does the paper work and puts together the adoption packet. There are home checks that are done, dogs being delivered to their forever homes, shopping for supplies, dog food, and anything else needed for the dogs, phone calls to be made or returned, veterinarian appointments, freedom pictures and videos to be taken, dog postings to be done. This is a daily routine for Linda. Late at night, when she finally gets to sit down it isn't to watch TV or rest. This is the time she finally gets on the computer. Her email inbox is overwhelming to see. This is the sad part of rescue. The hundreds of emails from shelter networkers begging for help. These emails include videos and pictures of innocent animals whose lives are on the line through no fault of their own. It is heartbreaking to see. When Linda is not reading emails she is writing her posts for social media, and researching. Linda is very passionate about education, especially when it comes to cancer. Her passion is to teach others the information she has learned by working with the best nutrionalists. Linda's "Stamp Out Cancer" program works. I have seen the results. Linda has spoken many times about one of her founding dogs, Riley and through her research and program she was given the gift of more time with him. Riley was my buddy and I never would have known he had cancer if Linda didn't tell me. He would happily trot around in his yard, roll in the sunshine and he LOVED his pool. He enjoyed going for walks and he could out run me which I think he got a kick out of taking off running when we would go for walks together. He was very smart and curious. Many times I would be working on my laptop and Riley would watch, always sticking his head close to the computer to see what I was doing. I know without Linda's program I never would have met him.
Linda is also very passionate about mandatory spaying/neutering, stopping puppy mills and shutting down backyard breeders. She attends meetings and speaks out publicly informing and educating along the way. She has fought against Breed Specific legislation, and her goal is to help change the laws regarding animal welfare.  Many weekends are spent traveling to different conventions around the world giving fans the opportunity to meet her, and she also uses it as an opportunity to educate nationwide. She truly cares about all animals in America and around the world. That is why she is always pushing "Emergency Preparedness" to inform people how to care and save animals from the high temperatures in the summer, storms, hurricanes and freezing temperatures in the winter. She wants to make sure this information is available to everyone.
2017 was not an easy year for anyone including Linda. Several emergency rescues were taken on by LBWF because of the fires. We also had several medical cases. Our emergency funds were depleted. Many of you have seen our Facebook posts showing the rescues. That is why we are holding this fundraiser. We want to give back to Linda. She works so hard and times have been rough. We have seen the stress, the worry and the discouragement in Linda's eyes but she fights through it and continues working and rescuing. She does this because she made a promise and she will never break a promise.  She is a force to reckon with.
Linda is truly an amazing woman. She is a mentor, and an inspiration. She is one of the strongest people I have ever met. She truly cares about people and animals. She is a true hero and I am honored to call her my friend. Linda has spent her entire life giving back to others. She has entertained the world for many years through her movies, traveled around the world meeting fans, she has given to numerous charities, and she has rescued dogs from so many shelters. Let us join together and give back to Linda for her birthday. No amount is too small, whether it is giving up one day's worth of coffee, or donating the price of a movie ticket. Any amount will help. Let's make this one of Linda's happiest birthdays ever by helping her to help the voiceless! She deserves it. To make a donation to Linda's birthday fundraiser please click the Donate button below.

The world is certainly different than any of us recognize or understand. We all try to go about our day to day life as best we can. We stand united with people who are similar minded,  have proper morals and respect for each other, the animals and nature, for me this is the only way to keep moving forward.
This past year was so difficult with many losing their homes and animals through floods, hurricanes and now in the last month in California we are faced with several devastating fires. It has taken a toll on all of us but we must stay strong and continue to help those in need!
Our job is to rescue, educate & provide for the abandoned & abused. I work all year long caring for homeless animals-rescuing, finding loving forever homes, paying medical bills, working to heal their wounded hearts and minds. I continue educating myself on a daily basis, working and learning from experts on ways to keep our faithful friends healthy and happy.
Our Cancer prevention program is WORKING and giving animals more time! We educate every day to remind people to cut out grains, potatoes, and feed clean food, to use cancer prevention herbs and more!
There is still so much abuse and ignorance happening to the innocent animals.  It is hard for me to get through each day.  I just make myself keep fighting and moving forward. We save so many innocent lives through your donations!
The laws must change and 2017 has shown that the pet overpopulation must be stopped. Spay and neuter must become mandatory against backyard breeders and innocent dogs that are being used in puppy mills by people trying to make a fast buck. It is imperative these laws regarding animals must be changed and every judge I have come across tells me the same thing. It has to be black and white, but we all know how difficult that is.
Human and animal rights and laws... It's all politics. Such a shame.  2018 must finally bring changes that are so desperately needed.
With that I will leave you with loving thoughts this Holiday Season. If you are traveling be safe, warmth if you are cold, and please look out for both people and animals in need of a helping hand.  Don't be afraid to save an innocent animal in their time of need. Never turn a blind eye when you can make a difference!
Peace to you through this holiday weekend.
We are in desperate need of donations. With all the rescuing and tragic emergencies that happened these last few months we simply didn't have the finances for our normal holiday mailing. Please be generous and donate today for our Christmas wish for the animals in need! Below you will find our wish list and whether you can provide something on the small side or large side we anxiously wait to hear from you!
 With Love & Peace,
Linda Blair

Meet Some Of Our Recent Emergency Rescues!
With the recent fires devastating California LBWF started by rescuing 14 dogs. Within the last day or so we have pulled another 5 dogs from the shelters. The shelters are in desperate need for space with all the fire victims. Many of the dogs are coming out of the shelters with kennel cough and colds and have been going to the veterinarian to get medication. We thank you all for your support and we know it is the Holiday Season but please don't forget the abandoned pets this Holiday Season. Your tax deductible donations help provide a meal, a toy and a warm bed!

A Shelter Dog's Holiday Poem
Dillinger
'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the town,
Every shelter is full- we are lost, but not found.
Our numbers are hung on our kennels so bare,
We hope every minute that someone will care.
They'll come to adopt us and give us the call,
"Come here, Max and Sparkie-come fetch your new ball!"
But now we sit here and think of the days
we were treated so fondly- we had cute, baby ways.
Once we were little, then we grew and we grew.
Now we're no longer young and we're no longer new.
They reacted so quickly- why were they so rash?
We "jump on the children," "don't come when they call,"
We "bark when they leave us," "climb over the wall."
We should have been neutered, we should have been spayed,
Now we suffer the consequence of the errors THEY made.
If only they'd trained us, if only we knew,
We'd have done what they asked us and worshipped them, too.
We were left in the backyard, or worse, let to roam.
Now we're tired and lonely and out of a home.
They dropped us off here and they kissed us goodbye...
"Maybe someone else will give you a try."
So now here we are, all confused and alone
In a shelter with others who long for a home.
The kind workers come through with a meal and a pat,
With so many to care for, they can't stay to chat.
They move to the next kennel, giving each of us cheer...
We know they wonder how long we'll be here.
We lay down to sleep and sweet dreams fill our heads,
Of a home filled with love and our own cozy beds.
Then we wake to see sad eyes, brimming with tears-
Our friends filled with emptiness, worry and fear.
If you can't adopt us and there's no room at the inn-
Could you help with the bills and fill our food bin?
We count on your kindness each day of the year-
Can you give more than hope to everyone here?
Please make a donation to pay for the heat...
And help us get something special to eat.
The shelter that cares for us wants us to live,
And more of us will, if more people will give.

Emergency Donations Needed
To My Amazing Animal Loving Friends,

The Southern California fires are out of control! We are in need of Emergency Donations to help rescue and save precious lives. The shelters are overfilled and need room to make space for the strays and victims of the high winds and fires. We have already pulled 11 shelter dogs so far and need your help! To make a much needed donation, please click the Donate button below. Nothing is too small or too large. Please help!

This year has gone by so quickly. There was so much hope and promise and then suddenly so many shocking events happened that changed thousands of people's lives without warning. We all stand together as loving people that want the world to be a better, kinder place and yet it has been a rocky road and challenged all of us in so many different ways.
The one thing we all hold in common is love for animals and trying to make a difference. The challenge becomes more difficult every year. I haven't given up faith. I can't. I need your support to help me to help the animals through these troubled times.
Our financial situation has been challenging all year long no matter how hard I work and reach out. I do this job 24/7. I take nothing for myself but I shepherd the animals every step of the way from morning till night.
In lieu of holiday cards this year we are doing emails and using electronic media to reach out to those we love and set a path for the future.
We all know spay and neuter is a necessity, due to the crisis of pet overpopulation in our country. Maybe now with all the storms that have changed the course of these animals' and humans' lives, the government will start to understand and we can make headway in 2018.
My heart has not stopped thinking about Houston. We have actually saved several animals through friends of ours that live down in Houston. These were pets that once had a home and found themselves as strays out on the street, lost and asking for compassion, food and would love a new home.
The environmental impact the storm had caused many skin conditions down there and we've tried to reach out and help those to help the animals that are fighting new issues due to toxins in their bodies from the storms. Florida, Puerto Rico, I don't even know how they could've been left in such a tragic way when they are our brothers and sisters.  I think of them every day.
Being in the middle of the fires and California burning is both devastating and shocking, and knowing the thousands of humans and animals that are now homeless is heartbreaking. Caring, loving, compassionate people are losing everything they've ever known in their lives. The animals depend on humans to find them safety and that is our job to help the homeless pets that have lost their families and need rescues to help them find a new loving, forever, home.
We rescue from shelters every week. We are not sure people realize the hard work we do. We give veterinarian care, training and mend they're broken hearts. We put them back together and find loving people to adopt them and give them everything they deserve!
We currently have 11 already rescued and at the veterinarian for spay, neuter and medical care! We are working with the shelters during these tragedies to figure out how to relieve their stress so they can help the strays coming in from the fires. Then the rescuers must step in again. It's time consuming, expensive and exhausting!
Please help me to help them! That's all I can ask from the bottom of my heart! The tragedies are all over the news and for those that don't look at the pets in the shelters it is simply heartbreaking every single day. Their lives are on the line for no reason other than bad humans and the loss of their homes.
We've uncovered a lot truths with the backyard breeders being allowed to take their pets back from shelters, to continue to breed them again, without even being slapped on the wrist. We have confirmation of breeders abandoning their dogs to the streets, to fend for themselves, after they've bred them over and over. All of this will be brought to light in 2018.
Please, please, please donate today and help me to help them. I must ask for financial aid during this crisis in California. I'm asking from the bottom my heart! Also, don't forget all the hard work we do for cancer prevention - it is working!  Help support me in this hard and expensive work that is proving to give people more time when their pets may be diagnosed with this tragic life-threatening illness.
 Many thanks!
With Love and Prayers of safety for your family and your pets!

The world is in such flux and change, but we at LBWF, want to wish you, our rescue family, peace, love and comfort this Thanksgiving!  Your love and support
to the important work we do with rescuing pets in need, education and supporting our companion animal cancer prevention work, would not happen without your love and donations! Your compassion saves so many lives and continues to do so every day!
We hope you've been following our companion animal, Cancer prevention program consisting of grain free food, herbs and the lives we have extended, proving proper grain free food, with no potatoes. Nutrition and support is truly extending our LBWF companion animals lives!
Recently, a Scandinavian report came out proving that animals extend humans' lives and  they help to slow down heart disease.  Most all of us, that love animals, as family members, truly know this ourselves, and did not need a 10 year study to learn these facts.
The companion animals, face such difficult obstacles nowadays, finding themselves abandoned and in shelters, all too often and their very lives at risk.  Did you know that LBWF and so many other rescue groups, across the country, need foster homes, especially this time of year, helping to save more lives and in return they just might save yours!
Sign up with LBWF for our foster program through the holidays and/or any of your rescue groups around the country and help a companion animal in need!
This is the time to give thanks, giving, and volunteer, helping LBWF and animals and friends around the country who need a helping hand.
We hope you'll consider a vegetarian - vegan Thanksgiving to know and feel the health benefits that will come your way!  Having saved turkeys in the past and knowing how sweet their temperament is, I wish everyone could have the same experience I did to know and understand why a healthy, meat free lifestyle is a blessing and the health benefits will prove themselves,  reducing heart disease, high cholesterol,  amazing weight-loss and so many other benefits!
Your Thanksgiving donations will provide our continued work with cancer prevention, holiday meals, love and support of our important work during this holiday season!
May you find safe travels, loving friends and family, peace, warmth and comfort this holiday season!
 Much Love,
 Linda Blair Worldheart Foundation

Pet Safety Tips
Chocolate

With the holiday seasons upon us it's important to keep your four legged loved ones safe! Here are a few tips to keep you and yours happy and safe this holiday season!
  1. Be mindful of cold weather products such as de-icing products, salt, and anti-freeze! When walking your pet outside during the snow and ice be sure to wipe their paws and undersides thoroughly when returning inside. This will ensure your pet is safe from any skin irritations or more serious conditions.
  2. Keep all holiday decorations out of reach such as tinsel and ribbon. Ingestion of these materials could cause serious health complications for your pet.
  3. There are lots of beautiful holiday plants out there but many of them are dangerous to your pets if ingested. Keep lilies, mistletoe, ivy, holly, and poinsettias out of reach!
  4. We all love our fur friends very much and want them to enjoy some of the same yummy treats we do but keep in mind that turkey bones can be very dangerous to our pets and could cause obstructions. Holiday sweets such as chocolate are dangerous too! Keep the yummies out of reach of your furry friends.
With the holidays come lots of visitors and/or out of town trips. It's important to ensure your pet is properly tagged and micro-chipped in the event they become spooked during this holiday season.

Linda's Tofurkey and Gravy
First available in 1995, the Tofurkey roast is a remarkably tasty and nutritious turkey alternative for those who choose a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle.  Tofurkey is renowned for its ease of preparation and turkey-like texture and flavor.  One bite and you'll understand why Tofurkey is the number one choice of vegetarians during the holidays and year-round!

  • 1 Tofurkey roast (in the grocer's vegetarian frozen section)
  • 2 large carrots, peeled and quartered
  • 1 onion, peeled and quartered
  • 1 Tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground sage
Preheat oven to 350 F Make the baste:
  • Whisk together soy sauce and sage, then set aside
Prepare the roast:
  • Remove roast from packaging & set gravy aside to thaw
  • Place the roast in a casserole dish (dish must have a tight fitting cover)
  • Place carrots and onions around the roast (celery may also be used, if you wish)
  • Whisk baste again and them pour half over the roast
  • Cover tightly to keep steam in
Cooking Instructions:
  • Cook at 350 F for 1 hour and 15 minutes
  • Remove from the oven, uncover the casserole and baste with remaining half of baste mixture
