Dear Operation Blankets of Love friend,

DON'T KNOW WHAT TO GIVE FOR VALENTINE'S DAY? Give the gift of love...of hope...of life to a homeless animal.

Yes, we sent this last week. But we added this in red below and a few more pictures what we see before we give them the necessities they need to stay alive and happy!! If you responded already with a donation, we thank you. If you did not, please reread and dig deep into your hearts especially on Valentine's Day!!and give whatever you can. And tell a friend to join you today and make a gift of life.

YOU have a pet(s) to love? The homless dogs and cats we help to save their lives one by one have no one loving them. That is why we are here to comfort them and bring them what they need to be happy.
In honor or in memory of your pet please read and look into your heart and for Valentines Day help save the life of a homeless animal by making a monetary donation today to Operation Blankets of Love. Please we need to continue what we do!!!

Many Shelters have no buildings and the dogs are forced to be outside and freeze.

Operation Blankets of Love is the nations only animal advocacy non profit organization that provide aid and comfort to 1,000 homeless animals a month.
We not only help the pets of the homeless but 35 shelters, hundreds of rescue groups, fosters, transports of "death row" dogs and cats that are flown or driven to new homes.
We give $500 to over $1,000 worth of items such as blankets, pet beds, towels, grooming supplies, dog igloos, cat trees, pet clothes, food, treats and so much more.
Abandoned Dog in Doorway

Have you ever thought about what it might be like to be homeless? What it would be like to be at the mercy of the elements? Alone. Afraid. Hungry. Cold. And if you were homeless, what would become of your beloved pets?

Meet Austin and his puppy, Freya!!! One of OBOL's Team Captains raised funds to get Freya spayed and licensed and drove her to and from the vet. Austin is one of the most responsible pet owners we have ever met, and he loves Freya more than anything!

Operation Blankets of Love is an emergency rescue organization to the animal rescue world. For more than three years OBOL has provided monthly relief to the pets of homeless people in the Greater Los Angeles County area.

Each homeless person is given up to $100 worth of provisions per pet such as food, treats, blankets, towels, pet beds, leashes, toys, harnesses, carriers, and portable canvas dog houses.

OBOL provides food, bedding, treats and more.
Our outreach program touches many homeless lives, from young people to seniors and physically challenged individuals in wheelchairs. While the majority of these homeless people have dogs as companions, some had cats and kittens, too.

These homeless people rely on their companion animals in many ways and the individuals that OBOL has helped love their pets and can't imagine life without them. Because of the economic challenge of being homeless, pet owners are in danger of losing their companion animals if they cannot afford to have them spayed/neutered and licensed. One of our OBOL Team Captains raises money for this purpose so the animal control does not take them away to a shelter. We are fortunate to work with a very compassionate veterinarian who does this work for a discounted price, allowing us to do more for these people and their pets.

Grants Pass Homeless
OBOL donates items to the homeless in Grants Pass, Oregon. An OBOL volunteer drives up to deliver the desperately needed items.

Several animal welfare agencies offer free or low-cost spay/neuter surgery via Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinics that travel to many low- income neighborhoods where there is limited access to veterinary care and animal care education. OBOL is called upon to donate blankets and towels to use before and after surgery.

OBOL also meets with each pet's family to donate pet items such as food, treats, toys, leashes and collars. Plus we meet with children to provide humane education on how to be responsible and to respect their pets.

homeless dog with man with dog canvas house
OBOL donated food, blankets, leashes and a canvas dog tent that provides shelter for this homeless man's sole companion but is easy to move.

We can't do this without you!

Your gift of love will help us provide more comfort and aid to the homeless and their pets. Please send your gift of life of $10, $25, $50, $100, $250, or any amount you can afford.

Founder and President

P.S. Most of us are only a few paychecks or one catastrophe away from being homeless ourselves. Won't you please help?

I am the founder and president of Operation Blankets of Love (OBOL), an animal welfare advocacy non-profit started in 2009. Our life-saving mission is to eliminate animal homelessness. While working toward that goal we strive to improve the lives of homeless animals while increasing their chances for adoption. We do this by providing comfort items to shelters, rescues, sanctuaries which improves the conditions found in most rescue organizations so that stray, sick, abused and neglected animals can find a measure of comfort while in the confines of cages and the like.

We also advocate animal welfare and shelter reform through service-oriented humane education, public awareness campaigns and policy work. We organize and participate in hundreds of pet adoption events while promoting “adoption is the best option.”

To my knowledge, Operation Blankets of Love is the only non-profit in the country that provides aid and comfort of this nature. And we provide it to more than 1,000 stray, sick, abused and neglected homeless animals every month in over 35 shelters and hundreds of rescue groups, farm and wildlife sanctuaries, or an estimated 24,000 animals annually.

We provide items for dogs, cats, rabbits, pot-bellied pigs, horses, and other farm animals and wildlife such as wolves, donkeys.

We collect and distribute recycled or new blankets, comforters, towels, pet beds, toys, food, treats, first aid and grooming supplies, leashes, harnesses, collars, dog igloos, cat trees and any other pet-related items. Studies show, and experts agree, that shelter animals with blankets and comfort items feel safer and more secure, happier, warm and comfortable—all of which increases their chances of being adopted.

To date, we collected over 1,000,000 items valued at over $3 million with 72 drop off locations.

Our unique, signature program engages 70+ businesses as drop-off locations covering 10 California Counties from Kern to San Diego. We also transport comfort care items for animals out-of-state and in Canada and Mexico.

The Humane Society featured Operation Blankets of Love's story and my background before I started my own non profit in their Sheltering Magazine. The article is available online should you wish to read it. The link is
